Tim Sylvia vs. Andrei Arlovski Rumored for Dream
Written by Kris Snyder
Friday, 01 January 2010 19:13

Keichi Sasahara, event producer for Dream speaking with Sherdog's Tony

Loiseleur had this to say about the two fighters:

“Maybe after March, or even for the March event, I'd like to invite them over.

They’ve never fought in Japan yet, so I’d like for them to make their way over.”

Dream is looking to add some talent and some name power to its

heavyweight roster.  Despite never having fought in Japan and coming

off recent losses, Sylvia and Arlovski  provide both .  Dream could

provide interesting match ups with the likes of Alistair Overeem and Josh

Barnett. Not to mention a 4th tilt against each other with bad blood providing

some heavyweight fireworks.

Nick "The Goat" Thompson (38-12) will not be on TUF 11, Signs to Shine Fights Promotion.  Thompson hoped to make the TUF 11 roster and participated in tryouts but it appears he was not a final selection.  Too much experience?  He has personality.  He's only 28 years old.  Maybe because he stunk at middleweight in Strikeforce/Sengoku and he should only fight lower in weight at 170lbs.  The Shine deal is said to be an "exclusive" one.. bringing about the question.. where is Shine Fight's deep pockets coming from?  Who are these guys?!  Oddly all the big names they've supposedly signed, no fight date or matchups have been announced.  Other free agent names signed by Shine are Jeff Monson, Din Thomas, Murilo Rua, Luiz Azeredo, Alexander Shlemenko, Eduardo Pamplona, Giva Santana, and former boxing champ Ricardo Mayorga.  For a new/small promotion to pull this off out of no where, we'll believe it when we see it.

Hell, yeah."
Kimbo Slice wants to ONLY fight at Catchweights of 215lbs. He gives thanks to his home gym, American Top Team, for adding the suplex to his arsenal and his improving ground game.  "I still have the mentality and I still have that fire to want to just bang-bang-bang, you know what I'm saying?" Slice told Sherdog.com in this video exclusive one week after his UFC debut. "But if I know some ground game, then I can bang-bang-bang like I really want; I can fight the way I really want to fight..."  Kimbo wants to stay at 215lbs in catchweight bouts only.  He doesn't think 205lbs is feasible and he'd rather not face larger men like Roy Nelson.  We'll see how this helps him.

Dana White gave all his fighters Christmas presents which are Flip Ultra HD cameras.  Nice little gift from the big guy.  These little camcorders retail for $189.00 and have 2 hours of HD recording time.  Looks like he wants more fighter blogs.  And this means, we'll probably get them.  Good thinking.
UFC legend Don Frye says he's buying UFC 109!  The main event is Randy Couture vs Mark Coleman.  Frye fought Coleman twice during his 13 year career [going 0-2] and is apparently a fan of Coutures.  "This might be the first UFC I buy and actually watch in about 10 years, you know?" Frye said. "These two guys, it's going to be one hell of a barnburner. They’re going to show these new guys how to fight."
